All Parents of Prep and Villa underclassmen:
Here is important information regarding financial aid for the 2012-2013 school year. There have been some changes to the financial aid application process for this year, so it is important that you review this message very carefully. Financial aid applications for both the Diocese and Cathedral Prep and Villa are available on the schools’ websites for download. Please note that the applications will not be mailed to families this year. The Diocese application requires the 2011 PA Tax return and a processing fee sent directly to the Diocese to the attention of ECCA. The deadline for this application is March 1, 2012, please be sure to mark the correct school code on the application. The Villa and Prep financial aid application requires the 2011 Federal tax return and must be sent with a processing fee to PSAS. The address for PSAS is available on the financial aid application. Do not send the financial aid application to the school. This application is due March 2, 2012. If you will not have completed your 2011 tax returns by the deadlines, please send in your 2010 information along with copies of your 2011 W-2s and any other income information. If you have any questions, please contact the Finance Office at 453-7737 extension 2251 for Prep students and 2252 for Villa students, or Dawn Slokan, Director of Finance at 453-7737 ext 2226. Families with children on both campuses must only complete one application per family.

Villa Maria Academy’s Student Council is sponsoring a Clothing Drive for the Catholic Charities Refugee Program.
Students, faculty, staff and families are invited and encouraged to donate their gently-used, clean and “warm winter clothing.”
The number of refugees served by this program has increased from 75 people two years ago to 250 people this past year. With your assistance, we hope to help over 250 people this year.
Please bring your gently worn winter COATS, BOOTS, GLOVES, HATS and SWEATERS to Villa between now and October 28th.
Collection containers are located in Villa’s front hall and the cafeteria. If possible, please help us further by placing your clean, foldable items in an individual, clear plastic bag with size and gender marked on the outside of the bag.
Thank you in advance for your help and support with this very worthy cause and for helping to make this winter a little bit warmer for those who are needy. Thank you and God bless.

This reminder is to all Villa students and their parents: On this Wednesday, October 12th all Villa underclassmen will be taking standardized exams during the morning periods at Villa Maria Academy. Seniors will not have school on that day. The exams will conclude at approximately 11:15 or 11:30 A.M. All students will be dismissed at that time and no breakfast or lunch will be provided. These tests are required for all students and every effort should be made to have your daughters here and on time for that day; there will be no make-up exams nor will there be an alternate date for testing. Arrangements for after school pick up may have to be made as the bus schedules will be following their regular day drop off and pick up. All students will be required to dress in their regular school uniform for that day. Questions can be addressed to Ms. Deb Seng in Villa’s Guidance Office by calling 838-2061, ext. 3226.
