What the Faculty and Staff Have to Say About Villa

One of the aspects that attracted me to Villa was the feeling of community. As my classroom space is separate from the school, sometimes I feel a bit "out of the loop." However, all I need to do is step into any classroom in the main building, and there is a welcoming feeling from the students, the other faculty, and the staff. Through trials and tribulations, this community of faith, of humanity, and of caring is the constant that helps us overcome our obstacles together.

As a parent and a teacher many positive aspects about Villa come to mind. I thought of tradition,academic excellence,and a Christian education.To me,the Christian education makes Villa special to me. Students who come from these backgrounds are more focused and goal oriented towards their future. I want my children and my students to be excited about their lives.My son graduated from Villa in 2000 and my daughter will graduate in 2007(This year).Villa generates this excitement.

What I like about Villa.

As a teacher, sometimes part-time, I am going into my 10th year. We have managed to assemble and retain a faculty that is dedicated to the education of young people. Where else can you be a student teacher with God as your mentor? Where else can you love what you are teaching to such inquiring and anxious minds? I have seen so many dramatic changes in students who were looking for direction and found it at Villa. We are not just an institution of high school learning, we are a family that cares. We care about our students and each other. A school with love!!

So, I am grateful to be a part of Villa Maria Academy, excellence in education, as well as, excellence in compassion for all who yearn to learn.
