International Scholars Program
About the International Program
Villa Maria Academy, an all-girls secondary school established in 1892, has been a home away from home for many international students over the years. We have hosted students from Korea, China, Germany, Spain and Italy. Being an international student at Villa means more than just receiving a college preparatory education in the United States. Our students are not only integrated into our curriculum, but we want them to experience everything that our country has to offer, including what family life is like. That is why our International Program boards students through host families who have been carefully screened and selected who will welcome our international students into their homes and lives. We feel that this experience makes for a better-rounded international student. Our Director of Admissions works closely with the international student and host family to ensure a wonderful year abroad. Villa’s International Program offers a wide array of activities and services. Services include a cafeteria, tablet PC, recreational opportunities including sports and clubs, library access and educational trips to major cities, including New York City and Washington, DC.
Villa Maria Academy is registered with SEVIS, the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, and is authorized to issue I-20’s to international students through the Erie Catholic Diocese so that they may acquire an F-1 Visa. In additional to the regular application for admission, international students must submit a bank verified financial statement as per the procedure explained in “How to Apply”.
