Leadership

VMA has one of the most active leadership programs in the area. Student Council is constantly working to provide quality activities such as Celebrate Gifts (talent show) and PRIDE MONTH (People Representing Individual Differences Everywhere).  Student Council is also a proud participant in the PASC, the Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils, and the NASC, the National Association of Student Councils. VMA has been honored to have student councilors elected to leadership boards on both the state and national levels.

Students may enroll in leadership classes which cover areas such as motivation, communication, leadership styles, ethics & principles, group dynamics and more.  All class and club officers participate in leadership training.  Officers are taught the proper procedures for hosting a class meeting, how to write an agenda, how to keep students involved and on topic, as well as other leadership topics.

VMA student leaders are actively involved in school, community and state service, and provide mentoring to Erie area grade schools.
